WhatsApp Services are going to End by December 31,2017


Our most favourate messaging app will gonna end after December 31,2017 in some operating system and Devices.

The information came through an official blog post dated 26 February 2016. The blog stated that the company would withdraw the app support for some outdated mobile platforms from December 31.However, the messaging app later extended the deadline to June 30, 2017

So These are the some operating system and devices which on later the WhatsApp service will not work or would not get any future security updates or new features

     BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10

  • Nokia S40
  • Nokia Symbian S60
  • Android 2.1 and Android 2.2
  • Windows Phone 7
  • iPhone 3GS/iOS 6

  • Further, WhatsApp stated that it would discontinue the support from devices such as the Nokia S40 on Dec. 31 2018, and the phones sitting on Android 2.3.7 or older will not work after Feb. 1, 2020. From June 30, 2017 the phones working on Symbian S60 stopped supporting the messaging app.

    “Because we will no longer actively develop for these platforms, some features may stop functioning at any time,” the messaging app said

    The company also suggests that if you were using these older type of operating system you can upgrade to new OS version or new Android version so that you can continue to using its services.

    Well this was a tough decision for us to make, but the right one in order to give people better ways to keep in touch with friends, family, and loved ones using WhatsApp.

    As the company also released some new features such as end to end encryption and option to delete the chat after sending it and some new stability bugs fixes which supports only higher version of operating system and android version. Even though it has over a billion users, many of whom have older phones, changes in technology mean it has to phase out compatability to keep security up to date

    Further, WhatsApp earlier released some new features on the beta version, and soon these features will be made available on the stable version of the app. One such feature is called PiP, enabling users to multitask while on a video call. Many beta version of WhatsApp include many new features which company eventually tries to make more and more stable and users friendly
