Qualacomm Snapdragon 670 :The Next generation chipset to be unvield in 2018

Qualacomm snapdragon has been the most powerfull chipset making company. Since the Snapdragon series is one of the most popular system-on-chip (SoC) to power mobile devices.

Qualcomm is reportedly working on the next-generation of Snapdragon mid-range chipset. Dubbed as Snapdragon 670,in the first quarter of 2018, according to reports.

Qualcomm’s new processor will be based on Samsung’s 10-nanometer (nm) LPP process technologyinstead of the current Low Power Early (LPE) technology used to build Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895 chipsets.Both of these processors power the majority of top-end smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy S8, Pixel XL2 and other high-end smartphone.
Some reports suggest that the upcoming Snapdragon 670 would feature a similar octa-core chipset, which is found in its predecessor, the Snapdragon 660. This means it comes loaded with eight Kryo 260 cores with two high-performance cores.

Qualcomm testing new Snapdragon 670 (SDM670) has the latest chipset on a prototype device. It also states that the upcoming chipset will support WQHD screens and it will support up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM. also it supports 64 GB eMMC, 5.1 flash storage and On the camera front, the chipset could support up to a 22.6-megapixel rear camera and up to 13-megapixel front-facing camera.

Snapdragon 670 will also use DynamIQ technology packing a Cortex A75 and Cortex A55. The technology is developed by ARM which means it is gonna be a better chipset.Likewise, the GPU moves on to the next generation of Adreno – the 6-series – while the current Snapdragons use Adreno 5-series to match the generation jump in terms of the core. Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 660, its latest SoC for mid-range devices earlier this year in March 2017.

The report points out that the chip is likely to come with an octa-core Kryo CPU packing two high powered Kryo 360 cores. Kryo 360 in the alleged 670 SoC is likely to be a third-generation core whereas the Kryo 360 cores used in the Snapdragon 835 and 660 are second-generation cores.

Moving to the performance, the latest Snapdragon 845 processor uses eight cores with ARM A75 and ARM A55 cores with  better power efficiency, and improved image processing. Apart from incremental upgrades, Snapdragon 845 also focuses on the emerging technologies such as Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality.

The four high-performance A75 cores will run at a clock speed of up to 2.8GHz, while the four power-efficient A55 cores will run at a speed of up to 1.8GHz.

chipset has also a features of new Qualcomm Adreno 630 visual processing subsystem that features room-scale 6DoF with SLAM, Adreno Foveation, and it offers a 30 percent improvement in graphics/video rendering compared to the previous generation.

The processor will likely come in many high-end Android phones in 2018.The processor will likely to come in high-end smartphone like Samsung and xiaomi to confirm that their future phones will feature the new chipset.
